RIP Soldier

It has been a rough day for our family, as well as our Army family.
The 173rd lost two soldiers yesterday, one of which was in my husbands company and whose wife is also my FRG leader.
It's so heartbreaking to see how quickly a family can be torn apart, I pray for his family - that they may find peace in The Lord and the strength to get through this difficult time.
There are days where I don't actively worry about my husbands safety, and then there are days where I'm almost certain there is just no way he'll make it home to us. I've had a few people tell me I'm extremely cold when it comes to a deployment but it's just how I present myself. I can't do anything except offer my husband and his battle buddies support when they need it. If I spent my time giving in to my fears then my children would suffer, my marriage would suffer, I would suffer. So instead I come off cool to some, when in fact it's just how I keep myself from falling apart.
I can't fight this fight for my husband, all I can do is remind him that his family is waiting for him. We love him, and we cannot wait to have him home again.

The Mundane

Hello Thursday!

I keep thinking to myself it's Friday, which is silly because I honestly have nothing to look forward to this weekend beyond spending time with the kids and my daily (NEVER ENDING) cleaning.

I recently started using a chart system for Haylies behavior. She's normally a very well behaved and polite child but in the last few weeks shes been letting this Dr. Jekll and Mr. Hyde attitude come through and I don't like it. Even Phillip has made comments about it when we Skype.
So far it's been working for us!

She gets upset when she's bumped down a color and is starting to learn that her actions have consequences and there are some things that she does that are NOT okay in this household. They use a similar behavior system at her school so she's already familiar with it!

I honestly don't have too much to write about right now, Hayden is going to take his morning nap shortly and I'm going to clean the house and figure out what we're having for dinner!

So it Begins...

This is the story of the Pelletier family.

Let's introduce each member shall we?

Phillip is 27 and in the United States Army as a paratrooper, he's currently deployed to Afghanistan but expected to return home sometime in later winter/early spring.
Tracie is nearly 23 and is currently a stay at home mom.
Haylie is 4 and is your typical outgoing, creative, and silly little girl
and Hayden is 14 months old and he's our "lazy baby". He does everything at his own pace and is quite content just butt scooting his way around in life.

I'm mainly creating this blog for friends and family so they can keep up on our activities since we are so far away!
It may be a little mundane for the average reader but that's ok, it's geared for family anyways!
